Good morning!
While the White Sox didn't have the series they were hoping for in Minnesota, one particular bit of baserunning stood out in game 2: Luisangel Acuña finished the game with three stolen bases, the first time a White Sox player has accomplished that particular feat since 2010.
While Acuña may ultimately be remembered as the guy who came over in the Luis Robert, Jr. trade, he at least also has that little bit of stolen base trivia attached to his name. Indeed, he's likely to be someone in future stolen base Sporcles folks are going to forget about, unless he suddenly has a lot more action on the basepaths.
Today's quiz is all about the other White Sox players throughout franchise history who have stolen three or more bases in a single game. In all, there are 101 player-games: how many can you guess correctly? Good luck!
Quiz Parameters
- I've allotted 15 minutes for completion attempts.
- For hints, I've provided the date of the game, number of stolen bases, and the position(s) the player appeared at during that game.
Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:
- This was nearly the longest gap between 3-SB games in franchise history. The longest gap is 5,777 days (15 years, 9 months, 25 days), while this most recent stretch was 5.725 days (15 years, 8 months, 4 days).
- No White Sox player has stolen more than four bags in a single game.
- The record for most stolen bases in a single game in MLB history is six, occurring five times by four separate players. A fairly prominent White Sox player is among them (he appears in this quiz; he played for the Philadelphia Athletics before and after his Sox career).
