Christian Oppor's season was crying out for an Arizona reset, and the White Sox are finally giving it to him.

The club is taking Oppor out of the Birmingham rotation and putting him on pause after he walked 36 batters and plunked six others over his first eight starts and 24⅔ innings.

As grisly as those numbers are, they don't quite tell the whole story. Oppor's control has been a mess since the start of the season, but it's spiraled on him to truly troubling degrees over his last three starts.

In his most recent outing against Biloxi on Wednesday, he opened his evening with three straight walks, throwing just one strike over those 13 pitches. He had the same issues in the second, and might have run up against pitch limits were it not for two Shuckers baserunning outs.

The White Sox used the Arizona reset to fantastic results with Colson Montgomery last year, but they also tried the same playbook with Jairo Iriarte after a rocky start to his season in Charlotte, and he's now pitching in the Barons' bullpen.
