Baseball America published its first in-season update of its 2025 top 100 prospects list, and it swapped out one White Sox infield prospect for another.
Caleb Bonemer cracks the top 100 at No. 93 on the strength of an .865 OPS through his first 25 professional games, citing swing changes driving it. Meanwhile, Colson Montgomery went from being ranked 39th in the offseason to 70th at the end of spring training to off the board entirely, which makes sense considering Montgomery was removed from Charlotte's roster for one-on-one help in Arizona.
The news was similarly mixed regarding White Sox prospect movement within the rankings. Edgar Quero climbed 33 spots to No. 65, and that could very well be his last number before he graduates. Meanwhile, Hagen Smith dropped from No. 37 to No. 55 due to his issues throwing strikes in the early going at Birmingham.
