Michael Kopech once again posted gaudy peripherals in his third start of the season. He struck out 10 Indianapolis Indians while walking just one over five innings.
That said, he was touched up for single runs in the first, third and fifth innings, all scored by Kevan Newman, who reached base to lead off.
First inning: Walked, stole second with one out, then scored on a two-out single.
Third inning: Doubled, then scored on a follow-up single.
Fifth inning: Singled, moved to second on a bunt, took third on a balk and scored on a wild pitch.
That last sequence may be why James Fegan said Kopech was "as self-critical as I've heard a pitcher be after striking out 10 guys." We'll have to wait until Fegan's recap to see if he also said:

- Charlie Tilson went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.
- Jose Rondon left the game hobbling after going 1-for-2. He was also picked off/caught stealing.
- Daniel Palka was 0-for-4 with a strikeout.

- Luis Alexander Basabe went 1-for-3 with a triple, two walks and a strikeout.
- Blake Rutherford cooled off a little, going 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts. He was also picked off/caught stealing.
- Micker Adolfo singled, got plunked and struck out thrice.
