Munetaka Murakami's big home run on Thursday evening may have (rightly) garnered the most attention, but it was his first MLB triple which provided the inspiration for today's quiz. Perusing Baseball Reference's batting stats for the White Sox, I noticed that two players are sitting on four triples apiece (entering Friday evening's game): Sam Antonacci and Tristan Peters.
If you look back at batting statistics of various White Sox over the last several years, you'll eventually notice that not one batter has logged 5 triples over the course of a season since 2019. And 2018 was the last Sox season that saw two players hit 5 triples in the same season. Thus, the theme of this week's Sporcle Saturday: since 1990, can you name the other White Sox batters with five or more triples in a season? That's 54 entries: how many can you get? Good luck!
