White Sox pitching prospect Pierce George

Pierce George and Mathias LaCombe are among the pitchers heading to the Arizona Fall League, but unlike their teammates at Birmingham, they're getting less of a breather in between.

The White Sox promoted both to Charlotte over the last couple days, and George pitched Saturday night, meaning he's pitched for all four White Sox full-season affiliates this season. His first 10 appearances came with Kannapolis, followed by 15 at Winston-Salem and 25 with the Barons.

One game of experience probably isn't all that meaningful, but it's certainly helpful to us, as it provides at least a little bit of Statcast data for better understanding his arsenal. In George's case, his fastball averaged 99.3 mph with four of them topping 100 mph, while his spin rate for his curveball (2,716 rpm average, 2,821 max) is above-average, but short of elite.
