--As foretold by Will Venable, Wednesday offers the first new incarnation of the White Sox lineup vs. left-handed starters that features Everson Pereira starting in center field.

--The White Sox sure could use another piece of evidence that Anthony Kay can be a stabilizing force in their rotation. Snapping an eight-game losing streak in Yankee Stadium would do a lot.

--Want probable starters for this weekend in Detroit? Too bad, you're getting them anyway.

Friday: Erick Fedde vs. Tarik Skubal

Saturday: TBA vs. Troy Melton

Sunday: Davis Martin vs. Justin Verlander

That's right, Saturday is the open slot in the rotation that neither Hagen Smith nor Noah Schultz will be filling, and David Sandlin can't be returned this soon unless he's replacing someone on the roster due to injury. Schultz will likely be ready-ish by the next time this spot comes up, but not this one.
