The last two years, the White Sox have swung a trade for a left-handed reliever on the fringes of the Red Sox's big league bullpen plans, sending an unheralded low-level international prospect Boston's way.
In 2025, it was Cam Booser for Yhoiker Fajardo. Booser went from their first high-leverage lefty to unceremoniously released in less than a calendar year, while Fajardo posted a 2.25 ERA while striking out 83 hitters over 72 innings, most them coming as an 18-year-old in Low-A.
Now in St. Louis' High-A affiliate after the Red Sox included Fajardo in a trade for Willson Contreras, he's posting similarly impressive numbers over five games in High-A: 19.2 IP, 22 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 HR, 3 BB, 27 K.
I only mention this because Ronny Hernandez, whom the White Sox traded to Boston for Chris Murphy last November, made his Red Sox organizational debut with High-A Greenville on Wednesday, and he homered twice.

Ronny Hernandez ties it up with a home run and this might be the greatest organizational debut I’ve ever seen.
