At the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina on Saturday night, the Charbroil 300 was called after just 91 of 200 laps, with the final 17 run under caution, due to persistent mist and a heavy fog shrouding the area.
The Winston-Salem Dash and Kannapolis Cannon Ballers, the two White Sox affiliates active in the vicinity, also had issues getting their contests over the finish line.
The Cannon Ballers, playing about 18 miles north of the raceway, played through the same conditions, even though every fly ball had a random chance of being seen. The Myrtle Beach Pelicans collected a double in the eighth inning and a triple in the ninth inning simply because Jaden Fauske could not track a fly.

Landen Payne was able to keep the ball out of the air for the final two batters, getting a strikeout and a groundout to end the game with the potential tying run still on third.
Meanwhile, the Winston-Salem Dash had three uniformed personnel ejected in the late innings of their 4-2 loss to the Grasshoppers in Greensboro. Kyle Lodise was ejected after striking out to strand two in the top of the seventh, which prompted the first of three Guillermo Quiroz conversations with an umpire. The second was on a ground ball along the third-base line that was called fair despite Ryan Burrowes stopping it in foul territory, and then he was finally ejected in the ninth inning after second baseman Bryce Eblin was called for obstruction while trying to apply a tag on a stolen base attempt.
And if that wasn't enough, pitching coach Jacob Dorris was ejected from the dugout after George Wolkow was called back to home plate after taking first base on a curveball that he thought hit his foot.
Here's where we should clarify that there wasn't any noticeable fog in Greensboro, but that didn't prevent everybody involved from having a hard time seeing the same thing.
