No pressure, but if the White Sox lose again on Monday, they will start the season 0-4 for the first time since...2024. They've started a season 0-4 on 10 previous instances in franchise history.

The White Sox scuttled some plans to write more about their offense, but hitting coach Derek Shomon said nice things about Munetaka Murakami's at-bat quality, outside of his three "bolts."

"You'll see an at-bat where he'll expand in a direction, one pitch, maybe two pitches, and then he'll reel it in inside of that at-bat," Shomon said. "He learns on the fly fast, makes the adjustments when necessary, at a quick rate and that allows him to be in the spot he's in right now. Yeah he's hit a few bolts but he's also drawn some walks, which is super valuable. You can't downplay that. His understanding of what needs to happen and how fast he's willing to apply it is what's been putting him in a really good spot."

Chase Meidroth gets his first day off of the season, as Lenyn Sosa starts in the field for the first time this year. Meidroth has looked great, but got a little bit sat on by Gary Sánchez at first on Sunday, and he fared the worst against changeups (Chris Paddack's speciality) of any pitch type last year.
