Between all the roster shuffling up top with major league 28-man roster and the A-ball seasons down to their final weekend, the White Sox shuffled a whole lot of bodies around the last couple of days.
We saw Lucas Gordon return to Double-A on Wednesday and Shane Murphy make his in-earnest Triple-A debut on Thursday (he'd been used as an emergency arm for the Knights in 2024), Friday's box scores revealed more promotions:
Charlotte: Tommy Vail is pitching at his third level of the year, while Luke Bell continues bouncing between Winston-Salem and Charlotte.
Birmingham: Alec Makarewicz started at third base for the Barons, taking the infield vacancy that had been left by Jacob Gonzalez and Mario Camilletti.
Winston-Salem: Grant Umberger finally made his first start with the Dash after spending the season setting the Kannapolis single-season strikeout record, recording 113 over 102 innings. He was 9-2 with a 2.56 ERA and just one homer allowed in the Carolina League.
