Bowling Green Ballpark (Jim Margalus / Sox Machine)

The Winston-Salem Dash's six-game series with the Bowling Green Hot Rods will require three columns, because they played to a rare tie as storms swept in during as the bottom of the seventh inning got underway.

What's even more unusual is that the Dash grabbed a 5-3 lead in the top of the seventh. Wilfred Veras punched a single to right that scored Loidel Chapelli, who reached on a single and took second on a wild pitch. Veras was thrown out at second trying to stretch it into a double, but Michael Turner was able to slide into that bag safely on his double. Shawn Goosenberg then delivered a drama-free two-bagger to the right-center gap that made it a 5-3 game.

But because the Hot Rods didn't get a chance to answer those runs in the bottom of the inning, that sequence of events never actually happened in the eyes of the game log. So if Veras comes up short of a nice, round number in the RBI column, you'll have Mother Nature to blame.

The Dash also missed out on a chance to pick up their first ever series win in Bowling Green, but they already matched their win total from the previous two seasons by going 2-2-1.
