Over on Fangraphs' podcast, Effectively Wild, Ben Lindbergh and Sam Miller debated whether in a 2020 redo of the 2012 AL MVP vote, Mike Trout would win the award over Miguel Cabrera, given that there's a more public acceptance of WAR these days. I'll let you listen to the episode yourself --it's a fun discussion-- but what caught my eye when (re)perusuing Miguel Cabrera's Baseball Reference page is that the next year (his second MVP season) he led the American League in all three triple-slash categories (something Mike Trout has done twice!).

This got me thinking: has any White Sox player ever accomplished that feat? Disappointingly, the answer seems to be no, though three times a White Sox player has led the league in at least two of the three categories: 1997, 1994, and 1972. For today's Sporcle, you'll be tasked with naming other White Sox players with impressive triple-slashes: to qualify, a player must have recorded an average of at least .300, an OBP of at least .350, and a slugging percentage of at least .450. That leaves us with 65 entries: how many can you name? Good luck!

Quiz Parameters

    • In addition to the criteria listed above, a player must also have at least 500 plate appearances to make the cut.
    • For hints, I've provided the season and the position of the player.

Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:

    • The overall average triple-slash from the players on this list is a pleasing 3-4-5 combination (and what I was hoping would be the cut-off for this quiz, but it hasn't been done enough times): .324/.402/.527
    • The only position unrepresented on this list (aside from pitcher, of course) is catcher. Here's hoping Yasmani Grandal can change that, if baseball is ever played again.
