I was sitting around the other day thinking about some of the fun White Sox games from last season --as one does these days-- and remembered Reynaldo Lopez's dominant 14K start against the Tigers last April. It was the first game in 2019 that a White Sox pitcher struck out at least ten, and wound up being one of three that Lopez would throw over the course of the season. In total, the team had 10 such games in 2019, a definite uptick from 2018, when they logged just two.
Which got me thinking: how many times have the White Sox had a pitcher strikeout at least 10 batters in a single game? Turns out, the answer is 298, and that is how many instances you'll be asked to name in this week's Sporcle. It's a big number, but it isn't as if you have anything better to do. How many can you get? Good luck!
