As Greg outlined on Thursday, DH is a position of need entering the offseason. Sox hitters, were, uh, not good in that position over the course of the 2019 season, so hopefully they'll upgrade over the winter and 2020 will be a story of better...well, everything.

Enter today's Sporcle! Yes, home runs don't tell the whole story of a DH, but it does help if they hit them. (Which, if you read Greg's article, means no 2019 Sox DH met the minimum for today's Sporcle.) Still, Baseball Reference's sOPS+ put the Sox *generally* above league average if they hit 10 home runs or more out of the DH spot in the lineup. And that's your task: of the players to hit home runs as a DH, how many hit 10 or more in 1 season? Good luck!

Quiz Parameters

    • I've allotted 7 minutes for completion attempts. There are several repeat names.
    • For hints, I've provided the season, number of games in which they appeared as a DH, and the number of home runs hit.
    • Just to reiterate, the home run must have been hit when the player was in the DH spot of the lineup.

Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:

    • The average triple-slash from this list is: .259/.351/.479
    • 59 players in Sox history have hit at least 1 home run as a DH.
    • David Ortiz holds the MLB record for most home runs out of the DH spot, with 47 in 138 games in 2006.
