As July came to a close, the standings showed that the Charlotte Knights faced a lengthy climb into the playoff picture.
As August passed the halfway mark, so did the Knights. Their victory over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday was their ninth in their last 10 games, and as a result, they've been able to close within three games of first-place Gwinnett.
