White Sox Minor Keys: Aug. 15, 2019

As July came to a close, the standings showed that the Charlotte Knights faced a lengthy climb into the playoff picture.

As August passed the halfway mark, so did the Knights. Their victory over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday was their ninth in their last 10 games, and as a result, they've been able to close within three games of first-place Gwinnett.

    • Nick Madrigal stopped his strikeout streak by going 2-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base.
    • Luis Robert went 2-for-4 with a homer, double and strikeout. He was caught stealing.
    • Zack Collins went 2-for-4 with a homer and a strikeout.
    • Yermin Mercedes went 0-for-2 with two walks and a strikeout.
    • Seby Zavala homered, walked and struck out twice.
    • Danny Mendick was 0-for-3 with a walk and a K.
    • Jose Ruiz returned to Triple-A: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 0 K

    • Luis Basabe went 2-for-4 with a double and a strikeout. He was also caught trying to steal home.
    • Blake Rutherford was 0-for-4 with a K.
    • Gavin Sheets went 3-for-4 with a double.
    • Ti'Quan Forbes doubled, singled and struck out twice.

    • Steele Walker went 2-for-5.
    • Andrew Vaughn was 1-for-4 with a walk.
