Sporcle Saturday: Opening Day starters, part IV

White Sox at Orioles August 10, 2011

Welcome to the last Saturday without regular season action for several months, and also the penultimate edition of the Opening Day starters series. Thus far, we've covered all positions but DH, which is what we'll be looking at today. As a reminder next week will be the cumulative exam, which will ask you to fill out the entire Opening Day lineups going back to 1990. Looking back at last week, once again we had multiple entries scoring 100%: asinwreck, KenWo, and pnoles. If you've been following along in the comments section or on Twitter, there's quite the rivalry between KenWo and pnoles, and I'm sure that this week will see more of the same. Good luck!

Quiz Parameters

    • As always, first and last names accepted, in addition to just the last names.
    • I’ve given you ten minutes to attempt completion.
    • As hints I’ve provided the date and the position of the player (not that position really helps, this week).

Useless information to amaze, annoy, confound, and/or confuse your friends:

    • The highest WPA of the players on this list: a robust .615 in a 4-2 win over the Royals in 2009. That line: 3-4 with a homer, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored.
    • The lowest WPA of the players on this list: -.151 in a 7-3 loss to the Blue Jays in 1994. That was good (bad?) for a line of 0-5 and 1 K.
    • Somewhat surprisingly, not too many home runs from this group. Just seven, with one player accounting for four of those.
