Since James already covered the impending MLB debuts of Hagen Smith and Tanner McDougal whenever their promotions are made official later today, let's cover a couple of decidedly more minor transactions.
At the top of the minor league system, the White Sox signed Joey Wiemer to a minor league deal, according to Brooke Fletcher.
Wiemer, who was released by Washington a few days ago, has played in 212 MLB games over four seasons for four different teams, and most recently getting off to a Yermín Mercedes-like start with the Nationals. He hit a front-loaded .286/.398/.512 over 32 games, going 8-for-8 with two walks over his first 10 plate appearances of the season before regression gradually settled in. As a tall, athletic power hitter who can play all three outfield positions but has problems making contact, he's basically a right-handed version of Nolan Jones, whom the White Sox traded to Seattle as part of the deal for Luis Castillo.
At the bottom of the system, the White Sox signed Luis Fonseca, a 24-year-old lefty out of Cuba. His minor league career in the Blue Jays system consists of 31 games of so-so performance while being old for the level in the Dominican Summer League, the Florida Complex League, and Low-A Dunedin. I'm mostly bringing this up because he's listed at 5'2" and 217 pounds, but based on photos I can find, I don't think that's accurate.

- Rikuu Nishida went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout
- Ryan Galanie was 0-for-4 with a K.
- Jaden Woods: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K, 20 of 28 pitches for strikes.
Rocket City 10, Birmingham 4
- Caleb Bonemer went 2-for-4 with a homer, double, walk and a strikeout.
- Anthony DePino wore the golden sombrero during an 0-for-5 night.
- Colby Shelton was 1-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout.
- James Taussig, 1-for-2 with a double and two walks.
- Juan Carela: 3.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 3 K, 1 HR, 40 of 73 pitches for strikes.
Charleston 6, Kannapolis 5 (10 innings)
- Jaden Fauske was 0-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout.
- Matthew Boughton, 2-for-4 with a walk and two stolen bases.
- Billy Carlson walked once and struck out four times, and was ejected.
- Alexander Albertus went 0-for-5.
- Braden Holcomb was 0-for-3 with a walk.
DSL Cubs Red 10, DSL White Sox 8 (Game 1, 7 innings)
- Fernando Graterol went 0-for-3 with a walk, sac fly and two strikeouts.
- Sebastian Romero singled twice, walked and struck out. He was also caught stealing.
- Ronald Cardozo and Felix Lebron both were 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.
- Sameul Luis doubled, singled, walked and struck out.
- Franchel Crisóstomo: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 3 K
- Yordany Marte was listed as the starter, but didn't pitch due to a lightning delay.
