White Sox Minor Keys: Aug. 13, 2026

During his Winston-Salem portion of his 2026 season, Caleb Bonemer absorbed a whopping 15 HBPs over 61 games, telling us back in July that he suspected it was the result of High-A scouting reports telling pitchers to work inside relentlessly and lacking the command to do it safely.

Double-A has provided a respite from the bruises ... at least until Thursday night.

Bonemer entered the evening with just 2 HBPs over 43 games with Birmingham, only to be drilled three times over the course of eight innings by Clingstones pitchers, all on the same limb. He took a two-seamer to the left elbow in the first inning, a slider to the upper arm with the bases loaded in the fifth inning, and a fastball off the forearm in the eighth.

He departed the game without much of a delay after reaching first base, and we'll find out whether that truly left a mark, or whether everybody agreed Bonemer had taken enough punishment for one night.

Fittingly, the Barons won the game via #WILDPITCHOFFENSE on another pitch that sailed into the airspace of the right-handed batter's box. It just so happened that Dylan Campbell was left-handed, and so it sailed to the backstop to allow the game-winning run to hustle home.

Charlotte 7, Rochester 2

• Rikuu Nishida went 1-for-3 with two walks and a stolen base.
• Ryan Galanie was 0-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout.
• Shane Smith: 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 50 of 75 pitches for strikes.

Birmingham 7, Columbus 6 (10 innings)

• Samuel Zavala went 2-for-5 with a walk and two strikeouts.
• Caleb Bonemer, 1-for-2 before leaving after his third HBP.
• Anthony DePino went 1-for-4 with a double, walk and two strikeouts.
• Colby Shelton had the same line without the double.
• Ryan Burrowes was 1-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout.
• James Taussig hit his first Double-A homer during his 1-for-5, one-strikeout night.
• Juan Carela: 4 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 38 of 68 pitches for strikes.
• Mathias LaCombe: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K, 7 of 14 pitches for strikes.
• Pierce George: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K, 5 of 9 pitches for strikes.

Greensboro 10, Winston-Salem 9 (10 innings)

• Roch Cholowsky went 0-for-3 with a walk.
• Javier Mogollón, 1-for-4 with a walk, two strikeouts and a stolen base.
• George Wolkow homered twice for his 2-for-4 night, walking and striking out once apiece.
• Kyle Lodise was 2-for-5 with two doubles and a strikeout.
• Jeral Perez went 0-for-4 with a walk.
• Christian Oppor: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 0 K, 1 HR, 5 of 19 pitches for strikes.

Hickory 5, Kannapolis 3

• Jaden Fauske was 1-for-4 with a walk, strikeout and 39th stolen base.
• Matthew Boughton struck out thrice during an 0-for-5 night.
• Braden Holcomb went 1-for-3 with a triple.
• Alexander Albertus went 2-for-4.
• Jake Berkland made his pro debut, going 1-for-2 with two walks.

DSL White Sox 16, DSL Mets Blue 10 (7 innings)

• Fernando Graterol homered, singled, walked and struck out twice.
• Sebastian Romero went 2-for-4 with a double and an HBP.
• Ronald Cardozo, another 2-for-4 guy, with a double, walk and a strikeout.
• Felix Lebron went 1-for-3 with a walk, HBP, strikeout and two stolen bases.
• Samuel Luis went 0-for-2 with a walk, and reached on catcher interference.
