The last Farm Fortnight served as something of a first-half overview, the main theme of which was that the White Sox farm system had largely done a good job of supplying the major league roster with reinforcements, which is the main point of one.
That said, I was still surprised to see Baseball America say in an article published Wednesday that the White Sox are among five organizations "trending up," but that's because it emphasized the preseason prospects who are contributing in the majors and concluded the Sox are in a "great spot organizationally."
This paragraph might give you some pause ...
Moving further down the system, 2025 fifth-round pick Colby Shelton has jumped from unranked to just outside the top 10 of the system. Righthanded pitchers Pierce George and Gabe Davis have raised their stock considerably, and 2023 first-round pick Jacob Gonzalez has made significant strides at the plate while looking like he could be a valuable major league contributor.
... if only the non-George options have been laboring at their new levels, and George even gave up a solo shot in his Double-A debut. But then you realize that the White Sox will pick first overall next month while also considering ways to add at the trade deadline, and sure, a lot of teams might want to trade spots with them.
