First Pitch: White Sox at Giants

Home of the San Francisco Giants

Oracle Park in San Francisco

|Jim Margalus / Sox Machine

The last time the White Sox played in San Francisco, they beat the Giants 6-2 to avoid a three-game sweep at Oracle Park.

Of the 15 players who appeared for the White Sox in that game on Aug. 21, only three of them are still in the White Sox organization, and only one of them is active. Congratulations to Andrew Benintendi for surviving.

Speaking of inactive, the original lineup had Jarred Kelenic playing right field and batting seventh, but he was scratched due to a lower back contusion. Derek Hill is now playing right and batting ninth, while Edgar Quero moved up two spots.
