Tanner McDougal warms up in front of Scott Aldred and the rest of Charlotte’s rotation

It's good for Noah Schultz that he's the highest-functioning White Sox pitching prospect around.

It's not good for the White Sox farm system that he doesn't really have any competition, especially if Tanner McDougal is going to miss any amount of time.

McDougal left his start against Nashville on Thursday night after 3⅔ innings with what the White Sox are calling hamstring tightness. A timetable hasn't been announced, but the White Sox could stand to see it on the shorter side, since Hagen Smith isn't yet progressing beyond three innings and Jonathan Cannon is sidelined with a hip issue.
