Good morning!
While Noah Schultz didn't quite have the debut he hoped, there is cause for measured optimism moving forward. A few more strikeouts and a couple fewer walks, across another inning or two? Hey, presto! You've got yourself a start that makes today's Sporcle. If only it could be so easy for us all to make such adjustments.
Today's Sporcle examines rookie starting pitchers of the past who've logged a game score of 50 or better in their MLB debut. I chose not to add an innings limit, so there are a few guys on here who went fewer innings in their start than Schultz, but still logged a higher game score due to more strikeouts and fewer runs allowed.
I hope you'll find it a fun list! There are some recent and older names, as well as some whom I would put into categories such as "Of course", "Remember that guy", and "Who?/Old-Timer". In all, there are 50 names. How many can you get? Good luck!
