Munetaka Murakami is cool and everything, but Colson Montgomery has vaulted his OPS on the season from .633 at the start of this road trip, to .823 over the course of four games.
Sacramento and Phoenix are nice hitting environments, but Montgomery has gone 6-for-16 with three homers and two doubles and three walks to swiftly make his slow start look like a pretty darn fast one before the end of the first month of the season.
"Really proud of Colson," Ryan Fuller said before the road trip. "It could be a situation where it speeds up and you kind of question things, but he’s doing a really good job of understanding that it’s April 16 and there’s a lot more baseball to be played."
