By his recent performances, Mathias LaCombe took a step back on Thursday. He entered the game having allowed just two runs over 8 ⅔ innings across his last three outings, but catcher interference with two outs opened the door for a two-run third, and then he gave up a solo shot among three hits in the fourth inning.
Still, there were two things going for him:
- The four innings represented the longest outing of his career.
- There's finally video footage of him via Jerry Espinoza, in which he gets a couple of goofy swings on his sweeper.

LaCombe returned early May and gave up 4 runs in 2.1 innings to the Brewers. 3 starts after that 8.2IP 4H, 2ER, 18K's.
