The White Sox update on Martín Pérez did not offer any new timeline projection beyond his quick placement on the 60-day injured list, so Jesse Rogers' report that Pérez's flexor tendon injury will likely knock the left-hander out for the season establishes his return as occurring sometime between two months from now and never.
As Rogers also reported, the Sox said that Pérez will receive treatment for his flexor muscle rather than undergo surgery at this point, but the biggest free-agent signing of the winter is out indefinitely by either measure. Scott Merkin relayed that Will Venable said Bryse Wilson will be the bulk boy for Wednesday when Pérez's vacated rotation slot comes up.

Davis Martin and Edgar Quero are working together again, which Martin spoke of positively his last time out.
"Q and I had some work in spring training," said Martin. "Picked up where we left off. Kind of filled him in on some of the stuff we've been working on, and hit it in stride. It really wasn't a learning curve out there so that was great."
Jacob Amaya is 4-for-44 on the season with two walks and a double, and his offensive limitations are well-documented. But since two early season homers, Nick Maton is also on a cold stretch. He last homered on April 1, and is 4-for-34 with a double and six walks since April 2.
