Writing about the White Sox for a 16th season, first here, then at South Side Sox, and now here again. Let’s talk curling.
Noah Schultz pulled from scheduled start today? Shoulder? May miss rest of season?
Anyone have a legit update just seeing some vague tweets
Yet another china doll.
Says shoulder impingement. They said could be out a few weeks, which might mean rest of season since not that much time left.

Shoulder impingements are a cortisone shot and back in 2-3 weeks. Anything longer than that and start thinking labrum. I’ve had a complete reconstruct on one and replacement of the other. Shoulders I know.
I thought he was slated for the AFL? Or is that just Montgomery?
Why is Eloy not playing again?
something about something, a kid maybe?
Paternity can be up to 3 games
Paternity leave.
Didn’t know. Well, congrats to the big guy/
Eloy can develop his own line of baby food: Strained Yammie.
Good leadership by Elvis to get ejected so Sosa can play.
finally, I mean, someone else at short.
The Sox have so many good players, it takes someone to get ejected to give a youngster playing time.
Sosa got a couple hits the night before, better rest him before he gets in any kind of groove.
Remillard’s average and OPS by month:
June .394/.899
July .232/.646
Aug .148/.296
He ought to be pretty good in September.
I think he heard you.
Yep, and even Friday when Sosa was 0 for 3, he had 3 hard hit balls with two over 105.9 mph. Play him. Andrus isn’t going to be a part of the next contending team, and Remillard’s ceiling is a bench player.
He’s hitting into terrible luck in this series, but he’s looked pretty good. There should never be a game for the remainder of this season where Remillard or Andrus is playing and Sosa isn’t.
Well… they ain’t catching that one
I think a fair amount of that production has come on infield / bunt hits, which probably isn’t that sustainable. As predicted, the plucky 29-year old rookie who loves to bunt has kind of run his course.
Nice to see Moncada come through. What a massive disappointment he has been.
Is Steve stone alive….hasn’t been on the broadcast for awhile
if they said something, I missed it.
What inning did he bow out? Maybe he had enough?
I was wondering the same
He started the game, was gone for a few innings, came back for about a sentence and left for the rest of the game. I hope it’s just something silly, like he spent the afternoon on the crapper.
Probably that.
Also, just play Colas against LHPs too. Trayce Thompson also has no purpose on this roster.
I beginning to find little reason for Colas purpose either.
I don’t agree with that. I see a guy who’s still raw, but is improving. He makes a lot of mistakes in the outfield, because I think he’s trying to do too much. I also think he’ll hit. I don’t foresee him being a star, but I definitely think he’ll be a productive right fielder in a year or two.
Raw 25 year old.
Same as Pedro
I forgot what it was like to have this happen to the other team, it’s almost surreal.
I missed the entire 8th inning… absolutely hilarious. I saw the score and was like “what?” Glad to see Sosa hit one out, that’s about the highest thing I could have hoped for.
Sosa should play every day the rest of the season.
I’ve been enjoying the Barons game today. I hope Jerry doesn’t make any money from me watching the minor league on-field product as a protest to the major league on-field product being so atrocious. Oh well.
“The Chicago White Sox are conducting a series of internal interviews to determine whether dramatic changes are needed inside the front office or the coaching staff. This has been one of the most disappointing and painful seasons in chairman Jerry Reinsdorf’s tenure”
