There's a big pregame ceremony honoring the 2005 World Series champions planned for Saturday's game, so there's simultaneously no reason to expect an actual 3:10pm first pitch, and still reason to tune in if you're into the whole honoring possibly the best team in franchise history thing.
There will probably be more opportunities after Saturday, since Ozzie Guillen would like to see his jersey retired.
"I talk to Jerry [Reinsdorf] every day, I never talk about it," Guillen said. "I don’t want to beg for it. But it would be nice if it happened while I’m still alive. Would I want my number to be retired? Of course I do. I want my grandkid to see who grandpa was. But it’s up to Jerry about the decision going to make. I don’t want to put pressure. Look, I played for the White Sox, I managed the White Sox, now I broadcast, part of the organization. I spend more time making money off Jerry than a lot of people. Do I earn it? Yeah, I deserve it. I think so."

New White Sox outfielder Will Robertson credits a big jump in in-zone contact for how he's been able to access more of his power this year, leading to a burly .292/.403/.578 line at Triple-A Buffalo.
"I’m a guy trying to create contact in the zone," Robertson said. "When I make contact it’s going to come off hard. I’m trying to be a full hitter but definitely when I get my pitches in the zone, trying to take advantage."
Robertson got optioned to Triple-A Charlotte when he was acquired earlier this week, but never actually reported there, so he was able to commute from his home in Missouri when Tim Elko went down with a right knee sprain. Will Venable said Robertson is a corner outfield option, and with the Sox looking to trade away from their outfield mix at the end of the month, that could be a route to playing time that wasn't coming for him with the Blue Jays.
"I played against a lot of these guys in the lower levels," Robertson said, referring specifically to Colson Montgomery and Chase Meidroth, along with being Brandon Eisert's teammate the Jays' system. "It’s nice to have some guys you played against. Young and from what I’ve seen, they work hard. Just excited to keep growing with them."

Elko (right knee sprain) and Brooks Baldwin (lower back strain) are both hoping to be ready to be activated off the injured list after the All-Star break. Elko was placed on the IL between the doubleheader on Friday, a day which also marked the first time Baldwin was able to swing a bat.
"Hopefully just the 10 days and then hopefully I'm back after that," Elko said. "I was covering the bag and there was kind of ground ball in the four-hole and when I was going to cover the bag, just twisted my knee a little bit awkwardly."
Baldwin said he felt a "minor muscle spasm" while bending down to pick something up in the weight room, and had trouble getting out of bed the next day, prompting a roster move and Elko's call-up. That's a pretty real-sounding injury, but Baldwin also talks like this is a measure to prevent something worse.
"Trying to protect my spine so I don't actually injure something there," Baldwin said. "Just went outside and ran a little bit, felt great. Going to go hit a little bit in the cages but should be good to go after the break."

As a fellow person who hates to hear nice things said about them, Mark Buehrle sounds awful relatable these days.
"I hate it," Buehrle said of being showered with praise during the statue unveiling. "I was as nervous as can be all day today, got three hours of sleep last night, all day today I was sick to my stomach. This stuff, all these cameras and mics and people, this is not my comfortable zone. I was definitely not comfortable out there.”
