Good morning!

One doesn't really get a sense that spring is coming soon --at least 'round these parts-- until Jim has published his annual "Who's who among x White Sox non-roster invitees". To take it a step further, I don't consider it nearing springtime if I haven't published the corresponding NRI Saturday Sporcle!

As luck would have it, there are both new-new names on this list (just this past season) and new-old names on this list (courtesy of an article published in the USA Today that listed the NRIs for *every team* prior to Spring Training in 2006): I don't know who was tasked with writing that list up (the newspaper archive I was searching through didn't list an author). I will, however, doff my cap to them and their tenacity.

So, today's Sporcle tasks you with trying to remember those NRIs who have made their way to the big league club at some point during the season. We now have 89 names: how many can you get? Good luck!

Quiz Parameters

    • I've allotted the full 20 minutes for completion attempts.
    • For hints, I've grouped by year and provided the position of the player in question.

Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:

    • Pitcher, unsurprisingly, is the most common position to appear, comprising 45 of the 89 entries.
    • The fewest NRIs to appear in a season remains just 2, back in 2010.
    • 2020 is likely to remain (I hope) the record for most Sox NRIs to make an appearance, with 10.
