White Sox Minor Keys: Sept. 11, 2021

As we've been talking about the various issues plaguing Minor League Baseball and the support of the people who play it, keep an eye on what the Kansas City Royals are doing.

Their spring training complex's Twitter account posted a photo of construction for a housing project that can hold up to 172 players and staff members.

We'll have to see whether this housing is provided or subsidized, but it wouldn't be surprising if the Royals were on the forefront of supporting their prospects, because they have one of the games best reputations for treating minor leaguers like actual people.

Jacksonville 2, Charlotte 1 (Game 1, 7 innings)

    • Blake Rutherford singled and struck out twice.
    • Jake Burger was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts
    • Micker Adolfo doubled and struck out twice.
    • Yermín Mercedes went 0-for-3.
    • Adam Engel pinch-hit and went 0-for-2 with a strikeout.

Charlotte 2, Jacksonville 1 (Game 2, 7 innings)

    • Yermín Mercedes went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base.
    • Jake Burger singled, walked and struck out twice. He was also picked off.
    • Micker Adolfo went 0-for-3.

Birmingham 5, Rocket City 1

    • Yolbert Sanchez went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two strikeouts.
    • Carlos Pérez was 2-for-5 with a double and a strikeout.
    • Lenyn Sosa wore the collar and silver sombrero.
    • Yoelqui Céspedes singled, struck out, was plunked twice and got caught stealing.

Bowling Green 15, Winston-Salem 4

    • Jose Rodriguez went 2-for-5 with a homer.
    • Luis Mieses was 1-for-4 with a strikeout and a sac fly.
    • Luis Curbelo, 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
    • Harvin Mendoza went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.

Fayetteville 9, Kannapolis 8

    • Caberea Weaver went 1-for-5 with two strikeouts and a stolen base.
    • Bryan Ramos was 0-for-3 with two walks, a strikeout and a stolen base.
    • Chase Krogman went 3-for-4 with a strikeout, sac fly and a stolen base.
    • DJ Gladney singled twice and struck out thrice.
    • Misael Gonzalez struck out all four times.
    • Wilber Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a homer and two strikeouts.

ACL White Sox 8, ACL Dodgers 3

    • Colson Montgomery went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
    • Wilfred Veras went 2-for-3 with a sac fly.
    • Wes Kath was 1-for-3 with a homer, HBP, strikeout and stolen base.
    • Jefferson Mendoza was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
    • Benyamin Bailey, 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout.
    • Logan Glass walked once and struck out thrice.
