Minor League Baseball has been rolling out schedules for the 2022 season, and it seems like the White Sox's four full-season leagues will keep the same format as 2021: six-game series, with everybody off on Monday.

The arrangement makes all sorts of sense when it comes to reducing expenses and lessening the impact of long bus rides. As somebody in the content game, I wish they'd arrange alternate days off so systems aren't completely devoid of minor league action on a given day for months, but having the last game of a series on a Sunday allows for earlier start times without an attendance hit.

The calendar improves in other ways. Unless Major League Baseball has to conduct a two-part spring training in order to reduce the amount of bodies around facilities, Opening Day is back to the first half of April, rather than the first week of May.

And even if the schedule has to shift, the Charlotte Knights will likely benefit from a greater diversity of opponents. They've been stuck playing an excessive amount of games against Jacksonville and Norfolk in order to reduce the travel schedules for the league's southeasternmost teams. The 2022 schedule is back to including teams north of the Mason-Dixon Line, like Lehigh Valley, Syracuse and Worcester.

In the best news that mostly applies to me, the Knights will play two series in Nashville -- one in April, another in July.
