While we learned about Norge Carlos Vera's agreement with the White Sox before any international signing classmates of note, he was the last one to make his pro debut.
But after Saturday, we can say he's officially in action. The 21-year-old Cuban righty who signed for $1.5 million made his long-awaited debut in the Dominican Summer League, and wasted no time outclassing the competition, striking out the side in an inning of work.
With every other White Sox pitching prospect struggling to tread water this season, Vera has the most exciting profile of any arm in the system. Alas, if Luis Robert and Yolbert Sanchez are any indication, we won't see Vera stateside until 2022 for tax purposes.
