On Thursday, Jim wrote about all the ways in which we can't watch baseball: among them, of course, the simple pleasure of just going to a game after the ol' day job has concluded. For many of us who don't live in a city where an MLB team is located, that means a trip to the local minor league team: for me, that'd be the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers who happen to be the low-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.
I was chuffed to learn when I moved to Wisconsin that the local baseball product had ties to the Chicago White Sox: for two decades (or as Hawk would say, "all or part of three decades") from 1966-1986 they were the franchise's class-A affiliate. So, for today's Sporcle, we'll be taking a look at who else has been a minor league affiliate of the White Sox, going back to 1963 when MLB reclassified the minors to the system we know today. That's 42 entries: how many can you name? Good luck!
Quiz Parameters
- I've allotted the full 20 minutes for completion attempts.
- For hints, I've provided the league, class, and year(s) a team was a White Sox affiliate. Teams are grouped by level.
- The quiz should accept the name or the city as answers.
Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:
- At one point in time (1946) the White Sox were affiliated with an insane 14 teams.
- The very first White Sox affiliate were the 1932 Waterloo Hawks out of the Mississippi Valley League.
