Entering the 2020 season, the White Sox bullpen figures to be a bit of a question mark as far as the repeatability of performances from the likes of Alex Colome, Aaron Bummer, Evan Marshall, and even Jimmy Cordero. How will Steve Cishek fare: will he look like the overworked version at the end of his Cubs' tenure, or will the Sox utilize him more effectively? Then there are questions about Kelvin Herrera and his health and performance, not to mention what Jace Fry might look like.

While there are more questions than answers at this point --heck, we're still a week away from the first Spring Training game-- the mere fact that the Sox did get good production out of a few relievers last year is encouraging. Even if a couple of the aforementioned guys regress, it's likely that others take their place and chip in. (Hey, like Josh, I'm trying to be more positive this year.)

Anyway, this is a long way of introducing today's Sporcle: in franchise history, which Sox relievers have had a WHIP of 1.1 or less over the course of a season? Two guys from 2019 qualified for this list (and another would have had he met the innings minimum needed), but there are another 43: how many can you name? Good luck!

Quiz Parameters

    • To qualify, a pitcher must have made 80% of his appearances in relief, logged at least 60 innings, with a WHIP of 1.1 or lower.
    • I've allotted 10 minutes for completion attempts.
    • For hints, I've provided the year and the WHIP.

Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:

    • The average triple-slash against from the players on this list: .203/.264/.299.
    • The highest ERA+ from the players on this list came in 2003, with a dominant 293.
    • Using similar cutoffs (80% in relief, 60 innings), the highest ERA+ in MLB history is 803: Zack Britton's 2016 season.
    • Mariano Rivera's career ERA+ of 205 is the all-time career record.
