Call me old fashioned, but I'm thoroughly enjoying that the current World Series matchup between the Nationals and the Astros features strong starting pitching. I love that both teams have three established, top of the line guys going for them: bullpen games and openers are fine; I just prefer the potential narrative of two starters going toe-to-toe over six or seven innings.
That line of thinking, of course, got me to thinking about the 2005 squad, and even some of the other rotations the Sox have put together in postseasons past. For today's Sporcle, I decided to put together a list of all the pitchers the Sox have had make an appearance for them in a postseason game. Unfortunately, that's just 71 names: how many can you get? Good luck!
Quiz Parameters
- There are some oldey-timey guys on this list, so I've allotted 15 minutes for completion attempts.
- For hints, I've provided the season and the main role in which the pitcher appeared for the team. While a few pitchers did have some crossover, for the part I've kept it to just one role.
Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:
- Just four players on this list have made more than one postseason appearance for the White Sox.
- Just one player from those four has made three appearances.
