OTHER IMPENDING FREE AGENTS

    • Iván Nova (made $9,166,167 in 2019) - let go

FREE AGENTS

No. 1: Yasiel Puig ( 3 yr @ 39 million ) corner outfielder that the Sox have always wanted. He’s cheaper then

No 2: Yoshitomo Tsutsugo ( 2 ye @ 4 Million ). Left handed power from japan coming off the bench. If he can learn to hit the US fastball he can be special off the bench. Dare i say 2018 Palka like. LF who can DH and give extra pop late in a game

No 3: Luis Robert, I know not a free agent but ... Sox offer a very similar deal to Robert that they did to Eloy thus allowing him to start in the majors on opening day and lock him up long term. Which Sox are very good at doing, locking up young talent early

No 4: Dallas Kuechel ( 4 year @ 78 million ) Sox get Dallas without having to give up picks in June. Dallas flys under the radar as teams focus on Cole, Bumgardner and Wheeler. Gives the Sox a solid arm that won’t need to be an ace but can be a 2-3 in the rotation since it’s unknown what Kopech and Rodon looks like coming off injuries and jury still out on Cease

No 5: Jose Abreu ( 2 yr @ 30 million ) Sox are bringing him back. Just a matter of how long and how much. Hopefully not more then 3 years

TRADES

No. 1: Trade Luis Gonzalez, Josh Osich and Jace Fry to LA Dodgers for Joc Pederson. LA gets bullpen arm they hope is close to the 2018 Fry and not 2019 Fry and also get a future 4th OF who can sit in the minors for a bit longer and Osich who can be a possible last arm in the pen. Sox get their guy that they wanted for years. At 8 million a year rough he’s a solid pick up as they take advantage of the dodgers need to move some pieces

No. 2: Trade Gavin Sheets and Carson Fulmer to Colorado for reliever Carlos Estevez. Denver gets a future first basemen that should produce in Denver both for average semi power and maybe they can get something from Carson. Sox get a reliable arm with 3 yrs control.

Roughly 110MM payroll

I want Martinez, Grandel, Cole, Wheeler but let’s be realistic. Do we really think Sox pull out the big dollars? I would guess Martinez stays in BOS, Grandel resigns in MIL or goes and gets paid to a team like HOU. And Cole goes to Yanks or LAA I’d not resigning in HOU
