With the All-Star break over, and the Sox representing themselves well at the game itself, it's once again time to examine past Sox All-Stars. I'm happy to report that this year was the first time since 2014 that the Sox sent at least three representatives to the game, while 2006 represents the high-water mark of this century, when 6 players were selected. As best as I can tell, the all-time high mark for the franchise came in 1954, when the team sent 9(!) players.
Anyway, that's your task for today: of the 96 players selected since 1970, how many can you name? Good luck!
Quiz Parameters
- I’ve allotted 10 minutes for completion attempts.
- I’ve provided the primary position of the player as a hint, and grouped players by year. You may want to go to Sporcle’s site to fill this one out.
Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:
- On this list, the position represented the most is pitcher, with 37 instances.
- The position represented the fewest times is actually tied: both second base and third base have only had three players selected since 1970.
