Sporcle Saturday: 12+ Ks

(Keith Allison / Flickr)

Last Sunday saw Reynaldo Lopez overpower Detroit pitching, giving the Sox their first 10+K pitching performance since last September. And it's the first time since 2016 that the Sox have had a pitcher strike out 12 or more, which brings us to the crux of today's Sporcle: in franchise history, which pitchers have struck out at least 12 batters in a single game? How many can you name? Good luck!

Quiz Parameters

    • I've allotted 15 minutes for completion attempts.
    • For hints, I've provided the number of strikeouts, and the date of the game.

Useless information to amaze, annoy, confuse, and/or confound your friends and family:

    • The franchise record for strikeouts in a game by one pitcher is 16, set in 1954.
    • The White Sox are 55-21-2 in these games. (Both ties called on account of darkness)
    • The highest game score of this bunch comes from one of those tie games: a 116(!) from a 15-inning shutout effort against the St. Louis Browns way back in 1912.
