It's not surprising to see Charlotte's BB&T Balllpark top a list of best minor league stadiums, especially when the field is only the International League. But I liked the Toledo Blade's survey of league broadcasters because it also delved into the worst ones.
Charlotte finished atop the list of received 10 first-place votes out of 19 league announcers, with a score of 11.8 out of a maximum 13 (announcers couldn't vote for their own stadium). The ones I've been to are in bold.
- Charlotte, 11.8
- Indianapolis, 10.9
- Columbus, 9.9
- Toledo, 9.7
- Louisville, 8.8
- Lehigh Valley, 8.1
- Durham, 7.4
- Buffalo, 6.2
- Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, 5.8
- Pawtucket, 5.4
- Rochester, 4.2
- Gwinnett, 4.1
- Norfolk, 2.8
- Syracuse, 1.7
If Pawtucket and Rochester are in the bottom half, it must mean it's a deep field. If Syracuse is dead last, yeah, that's probably about right. There's no fun there.
