The regular season resumes for Birmingham, Winston-Salem and Kannapolis today, so we'll have plenty of promotions to dissect.

In the meantime, Michael Kopech started for Charlotte tonight against Columbus, and the first inning looked like more of the same from him. He gave up a single, a walk, and then another walk after an error to fall behind 2-0 before recording the first out.

But when the smoke cleared, his emerged with the victory and a line that could've looked a lot worse: 5 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 6 K, and a homer that, as a White Sox pitcher, he is legally required to surrender to Adam Rosales.

Our man in Charlotte Jonathan Lee said Kopech had problems with home plate umpire Chris Graham's strike zone, but he managed to overcome the struggles to put together his best outing in June. After the game, he said that he felt like he had fun again.
