White Sox Minor Keys: June 10, 2018

BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem (Jim Margalus)

One thing that could be delaying deserved promotions between the White Sox' A-ball affiliates? The chance at first-half championships.

This week marks the last one of the first half, and both Winston-Salem and Kannapolis are in position to clinch postseason appearances. The Dash hold a 1½-game lead over Buies Creek in the Carolina League Southern Division, and the Intimidators are up two games on Lakewood in the South Atlantic League Northern.

While Kannapolis has the larger lead, it also has the tougher road. Two doubleheaders scheduled over the course of three days make it easy to lose a lot of ground in the loss column.
