PREAMBLE
I see the White Sox as World Series contenders if they can add quality pieces this offseason, most importantly starting pitching, while maintaining their key players like Antonacci, Meidroth, Vargas, Mune, and Colson.
ARBITRATION-ELIGIBLE PLAYERS
- Miguel Vargas: Tender
- Brenton Doyle: Tender
- Joey Bart: Non-tender
- Huascar Brazobán: Non-tender
- Jordan Leasure: Non-tender
- Chris Murphy: Non-tender
Vargas goes without saying. He's in my opinion the best 3B in the American League and one of the best 3B in baseball. If the White Sox win a World Series, Vargas is inevitably going to be the leading role in that team. As for Brenton Doyle, I think he's one of the most underrated defensive CF's in baseball. On the other side of the ball, Doyle started showing serious promise as a hitter towards the end of the regular season, and while I think Tristan Peters is immensely valuable to this team, Doyle is the better center fielder who will provide more for the team in the long run. The other players, Bart, Brazoban, Leasure, and Murphy simply won't provide World Series caliber baseball to this team.
