After 2 ½ months, the White Sox will try to complete a three-game sweep of the Atlanta Braves. They pulled off a pair of notable one-run victories back on June 9 and June 10 before rain postponed the finale. The former was Braden Montgomery's debut and walk-off homer, and the latter put them in first place for the first time all season.
Back when these teams met in June, the Braves didn't have Ronald Acuña Jr. or Drake Baldwin, both of whom were on the injured list. They're batting 1-2 today. They also didn't have trade deadline acquisition Lane Thomas, who is hitting fifth.
The White Sox counter with Munetaka Murakami, who was a little more than a week into his absence for the strained hamstring. He's part of a White Sox lineup that is the most stable it's been all season, as the first eight batters have been listed in the same order in the last six games against right-handed starters. The only difference is which guy is catching, but whether it's Drew Romo or Jake Rogers, he's batting ninth.
