White Sox Minor Keys: June 2, 2026

You can't quite close the book on the Dominic Fletcher-Cristian Mena trade, but with Mena set to undergo shoulder surgery that will end his 2026 season before it even began, it's approaching the point that neither the White Sox nor the Diamondbacks got what they'd hoped for out of their February 2024 deal.

Mena's 2025 season ended in June with a shoulder strain, just as he was getting a major league opportunity in Arizona's bullpen, and just before the Diamondbacks suffered some other injuries that might have opened up a spot in the rotation. He still ranked as a top-10 prospect (or top-11, per MLB.com), but this now makes two seasons that he's lost to injuries.

For those wondering about Fletcher, he's hitting .255/.328/.455 over 55 plate appearances with Triple-A Indianapolis in the Pirates system, coming back from his own injury that cost him all of April.

• Braden Montgomery went 2-for-4 with a sac fly, although he was caught stealing twice.
• Junior Pérez doubled, walked and struck out thrice.
• Hagen Smith: 4.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 9 K, 2 HBP, 55 of 89 pitches for strikes.
• Peyton Pallette picked up the win in his return to Charlotte: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K, 9 of 19 pitches for strikes.

• Colby Shelton went 2-for-4 with a walk.
• Anthony DePino was 1-for-3 with two walks and a strikeout.
• Samuel Zavala, 0-for-4 with a walk and three strikeouts.
• Jeral Perez came a triple shy of the cycle during a 3-for-5 night, driving in five. He struck out once.
• Connor McCullough: 4 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 44 of 72 pitches for strikes.

Winston-Salem 2, Hub City 1

• Caleb Bonemer went 1-for-4 with a double and two strikeouts.
• George Wolkow had the Dash's other hit while going 1-for-3 with a strikeout, and it was a big one: a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning.
• Boston Smith was 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout.
• Kyle Lodise went 0-for-1 with three walks, stole a base and was picked off.
• Mason Adams: 3 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K, 1 HBP, 32 of 48 pitches for strikes.
• Seth Keener: 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 1 HBP, 10 of 17 pitches for strikes.
