Even with James relaying the news of Billy Carlson's thumb injury in Tuesday's pregame notes -- it's expected to require four to six weeks to heal -- he still left plenty of White Sox minor league news to kick off today's Keys:
*George Wolkow slotted in at the sixth spot on Baseball America's Hot Sheet. Again, it's a secondary honor to Fortnight's Finest, but here's the blurb from Josh Norris regardless:
Wolkow’s career can be summed up simply: If he makes more contact, the sky is the limit. This past week, he showed hints of that potential. Facing Greensboro, the 20-year-old slugger crushed a pair of home runs—including one off of top Pirates prospect Seth Hernandez—giving him seven on the year, or more than half the total he produced in 116 games at Low-A last year. His strikeout rate—just more than 30% for the month—still needs to come down, but this past week gave fans a taste of his upside.
*Caleb Bonemer left Tuesday's game after getting hit by a pitch on his right forearm/wrist. He's getting an x-ray, but he'd already been hit in that area, so it could have just exacerbated previous soreness. He's been hit by 12 pitches this year.
*Speaking of residual soreness, Austin Hays was scratched from his rehab start with Charlotte for that very reason.

Highlights:
*Shelton's slam came off a lefty reliever who was brought into face him. It might not have left Regions Field last year, but it still would've been plenty useful for a sac fly under any circumstances.
