In an otherwise successful season that launched him to top prospect status on Sox Machine, Caleb Bonemer hit only 12 homers over 107 games in 2025. Granted, he left a number of reasons to think more power was in the offing -- he was just 19 and making his professional debut, he supplemented it with 34 other extra-base hits for an ISO that approached .200, and also just look at him -- but everybody could agree that that particular number would have to go up as Bonemer climbed up the chain.
And it looks like it will, because Bonemer is now at 10 homers through his first 21 games this season after leaving the yard in his final three plate appearances of Winston-Salem's 7-6 comeback win over Greensboro on Tuesday.
The Dash trailed 3-0 in the sixth when Bonemer inside-outed a line drive over the right-center fence, making it a one-run game.

With the Dash trailing 6-2 in the eighth, Bonemer got around an inner-half fastball and hoisted it onto the berm behind left field to cut the Grasshoppers' lead to two.

Bonemer then came to the plate representing the Dash's last hope in regulation. With a runner on first, two outs and a 2-1 count, Bonemer got a spinning slider at the top of the zone, and he closed the remainder of that four-run deficit to send the game into extras.
He’s 👏 built 👏 different 👏!!!
