Rikuu Nishida didn't hit a home run at Kannapolis until his 118th game as a Cannon Baller back on July 27, 2024.

He didn't homer at Winston-Salem, but in his defense, he only played 26 games there.

He didn't homer at Birmingham, even though he played 137 games there spread out over three years.

So of course, he makes his long-awaited Triple-A debut with Charlotte in Jacksonville on Friday and lofts a solo shot into the right field seats before his first game as a Knight comes to a close.

Jacksonville 4, Charlotte 1

• Rikuu Nishida's Triple-A debut: 2-for-4 with a homer and two strikeouts.
• Ryan Galanie's wasn't as successful, as he finished 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.
• Jacob Gonzalez was 0-for-4 with a strikeout.
• Jarred Kelenic, 0-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base.
• Tanner McDougal: 4.1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 49 of 84 pitches for strikes.

Rocket City 7, Birmingham 4

• Samuel Zavala was 1-for-5.
• Braden Montgomery homered, singled and struck out twice.
• Jeral Perez was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.
• Shane Murphy: 6 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, 1 HR, 1 HBP, 59 of 87 pitches for strikes.

Highlights:

*Montgomery is getting lift.

Winston-Salem 8, Asheville 4

• Caleb Bonemer was 0-for-3 with an HBP and a strikeout.
• Colby Shelton went 1-for-4 with a stolen base.
• Anthony DePino, 1-for-4.
• George Wolkow was 1-for-4 with a homer and two strikeouts.
• Kyle Lodise went 0-for-2 with a walk and HBP.
• Boston Smith homered, tripled, walked and struck out.

Highlights:

*Smith has three homers in two games with the Dash, and all of them continue to barely leave the yard.

Kannapolis 5, Myrtle Beach 2 (10 innings)

• Jaden Fauske went 1-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts.
• Billy Carlson was 1-for-4 with a triple and a walk.
• Javier Mogollón, 0-for-4 with a sac fly and two strikeouts.
• Rylan Galvan was 1-for-3 with an HBP and two strikeouts, and the hit was a game-tying homer in the ninth.
• Blaine Wynk: 3 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 2 K, 1 HR, 30 of 54 pitches for strikes.
