While it would be great if Chicago White Sox fans get to see winning baseball at the home ballpark in 2026, the non-baseball part of the organization is doing what it can to impress by introducing new concessions. The Sox are expanding the selection at Lucky’s, which launched last year featuring Korean dogs and bubble waffle treats, While launching new stands like Coffee & Cream, Wingman, and Jibarito.
What’s new: Street closures on game days

If you have decried the traffic jams at Rate Field in recent years, 2026 could take ballpark congestion to a whole new level.
Starting 90 minutes before first pitch, and lasting until an hour after the game, the following streets will be closed to car traffic around Rate Field.
- 35th Street between Normal Ave and Wentworth Ave
- 37th St. between Wallace St. and Princeton Ave.
- 38th St. between Wallace St. and Princeton Ave.
- Stewart Ave. between 31st St. and 33rd St.
- Shields Ave. between 31st St. and 33rd St.
- Princeton Ave. between 31st St. and 33rd St.
- Wells Ave between 31st St. and 33rd St.
For a visual reference, the red bars displayed in the graphic below indicate street closures on game days.

In addition to the closures, numerous road construction projects are underway in Bridgeport, including on 33rd St. and Pershing, which is reduced to one lane at parts around Halsted street.
What’s new: 100-level concessions
The White Sox will feature more Latin American and Asian influences in their new food options across the general 100-level. These new concepts are from Delaware North, which will also open the first coffee shop in Rate Field called Coffee & Cream. This coffee stand will be by Section 105 in the outfield concourse and will feature gourmet coffee drinks.
Here are the new menu items sampled at the White Sox preview day, along with where to find them.
Lucky’s - Section 154

“Papas Freedom” Korean Dog: Vienna beef dog with a hashbrown batter and drizzled chipotle ketchup
Quick review: Hashbrown batter gives this corndog a good crunch. Ketchup is more on the sweeter side than expected given the smokiness of chipotle.

Tonkatsu Dog: Vienna beef dog with a panko batter served with kewpie mayo, teriyaki sauce, and bonito flakes
Quick review: This Korean dog has more flavor than the Papas Freedom version. The combination of kewpie mayo and teriyaki sauce elevate this dish.

Rainbow Bubble Waffle: In honor of Munetaka Murakami, who is said to have a big sweet tooth, this dessert is vanilla ice cream with gummy bears, nerd clusters, and sprinkles.
Quick review: Kids will love this very sugary, sweet dessert. A warning: The combination of cold gummy bears and nerd clusters is strong enough to rip out tooth fillings.
Soba Noodle Stir Fry: Chili crunch with carrots, mushrooms, cabbage, and sesame seeds.
Quick review: A nice vegetarian addition to the White Sox food offerings.
Wingman - Section 101

Crispy Chicken Wings & Fries: White Sox will be stacking drumsticks and flats on top of French fries. The following sauces and dry rubs are available: Buffalo, mango habanero, garlic parmesan, and lemon pepper.
Quick review: The lemon pepper wings were flavorful, and having chicken wings instead of the usual offer of chicken tenders is a nice change of pace. During game days, it’ll be interesting to see if the White Sox can keep the fries crispy. There were inconsistencies with fry crunch during the media preview day.
Machete - Section 111
Machete: A giant quesadilla with chicken chorizo, queso oaxaca, and orange salsa.

Quick review: This food item will be popular early because of the horizontal fold with the Machete being a long quesadilla, but the taste was lackluster.
New Menu Items Looking To Try
- Jibarito (Section 104): Not available during preview day, but this offering will be a fried plantain sandwich stuffed with steak, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and a special sauce.
- Arepa Burger (Section 152): A burger in between corn griddle cakes with honey-glazed pork belly, sofrito, garlic aioli, and aji sauce.
- Puerto Rican Rice Bowl (Section 155): Wondering if this is a play on what’s offered at Chipotle? This rice bowl will have either a steak or roasted pork topped with jalapenos, hot sauce, sofrito aioli, and pickled onions
- Fajita Dog (Section 113): New foot-long Vienna Beef hot dog with sauteed onions and peppers, topped with an avocado crema.
- Two Bagger Smash Burger (Section 126): It’s a burger with a hot dog on top with dressings of guacamole, grilled jalapenos, and a poblano-aioli slaw.
