Good morning!
It took until August 26, but a White Sox pitcher finally logged a game score of 80 this season. Unfortunately, the White Sox wasted Martín Pérez's fine effort, falling to the Royals 5-4. Still, Pérez became the 74th pitcher in MLB this season to record a game score of 80 or higher; entering Friday's action there have now been 78 such instances. (For those scoring at home, Tarik Skubal has five all by himself, and next-closest are a couple of guys with three)
By now, you know where this is going: which other Sox pitchers have logged a game score of 80 or better? That’s what today’s Sporcle is all about: since 1990, there have been 180 pitching performances that have met that 80 game score threshold. Some of the names are pretty obvious, while others are a bit more obscure. How many can you get? Good luck!
