First Pitch: White Sox at Twins

(Schwerdf / Wikipedia)

As the White Sox attempt to pull off the rare four-game sweep, they made four roster moves.

Jonathan Cannon is back from Charlotte, as he'll serve as the bulk pitcher behind an opening Fraser Ellard. Tyler Gilbert also returned from Charlotte, as he was able to come back before the 15-day cooling period because Bryan Hudson went on the injured list with a lower back strain.

To open up the other roster 26-man roster spot, the White Sox designated Bryse Wilson for assignment. That also opens up a spot on the 40-man roster, which is now down to 38.

None of those roster moves have anything to do with Will Venable putting two catchers at the top of the lineup. That's just a heat check, but with Rocco Baldelli sitting Byron Buxton, Venable has reason to feel good.
